NAVIGATING

IC SALOON
It is a very good ”eye-opener” and is very valuable to use as a starter for a longer sessions about organisational changes or strategies. Many groups choose this tools as a starting session when they visited SFC, whatever the reason for the visit was. The purpose with the IC Salong is to help create new ideas, how you construct or manage to get a creative environment and the tools and methods to reach this. It is a very good ”eye-opener” and is very valuable to use as a starter for a longer session about changes or strategies. IC Salong is a mixture of lecture and discussion about the theories behind intellectual capital. But it is a little bit up the the visitor. Discussions could also be focused on what is needed to build your own creative office environment.

KNOWLEDGE CAFÉ
Is there such a thing as a democratic meeting, when there are thousands of ideas and views? In a knowledge cafe everyone gets the chance to put forward their opinion. Discussions run more smoothly, leaving time for other things. A knowledge café is a meeting tool for anchoring important, topical issues in an organization or company. For a management group this may involve discussing goals, visions and strategies. A project management team can use the tool for brainstorming or to evaluate projects in progress. The purpose with the Knowledge Café is that everybody feels they are participating. The Café is based on conversation. It helps to increase creativity and the creation of new ideas. It is very democratic and everyone can, without fear, get their voice heard. The participants sit at a "café table" around a computer. Everything discussed in the group is typed into the computer and projected onto a screen in the premises, which means that other groups can share in what is being said. The whole meeting is then saved into a database for subsequent compilation and reporting. We used a web-based IT-tool, specially developed for the purpose

KNOWLEDGE SAFARI
The purpose with the Knowledge Safari, which is a team building activity, is to have the participants to solve a common threat. They do this together by solving different tasks or ”stations” in new constalations. This results in new forms of cooperation and a new way to take advantage of the group members different experience and knowledge. Knowledge Safari is a communication game. It is also a teambuilding activity but with a difference that Knowledge Safari is connected or based on a key information on the participating company or organsiation. The purpose is to get into the open key information about the company or organisation.

KNOWLEDGE KICK-START
The purpose with the Knowledge Kick-Start is to describe the theories behind the concept of IC. It’s an introduction on how to work with IC in reality. What is the value of IC? And who are the stakeholders? What is IC? What is the Navigator? How does the Value Scheme work?. And how can you describe your strategy by using the Process model?

STRATEGIC FACILITATION
Strategic facilitation will increase groups efficiency by visualizing activities graphicly. It helps participants to prioritise among all activities that has to be done. Is normally run as a workshop. Step-by-step, we help you to find your most important actiivities and how they link together and how the align to the overall vision.. In SFC we often used the Grove templates for this method.

STORYTELLING
People are being more and more aware of the power of story telling. And SFC had workshops in story telling for those who were interested. Stories communicate ideas holistically. By Storytelling you can describe a difficult subject in a easy but clear way. It’s excellent for communicating thoughts and ideas, even difficult ones, in an easy to understand way. A complicated message or idea can be difficult to remember, stories are much easier.

KNOWLDEGE PATH
Purpose is to let the participants getting to know the company they just have joined. To get knowledge about the company, the vision and strategy the culture, the products, the organisation and the people.

A facilitator is leading the group during two days. Different tools at the SFC are used in combination with lectures by leaders and non leaders from different parts of the company. Staying together for two days with people you are not going to work close with in the future helps to create new networks within the company, which also was in line with the effort trying to tear down ”walls” within the organsiation.

DOLPHIN NAVIGATOR SYSTEM
Dolphin Navigator System is an IT system for holistic management, which shows the relationship between vision, strategy and different activities in a company. Dolphin is an optimal aid for rational and effective planning, control and follow-up of the organization's goals and strategy. It can be used on all levels from the board to the floor.

The Dolphin system is based on the concept of the Navigator and the Process model and gives a fair and balanced view of the organsiations economical as well as non tangable values.

It was normally intorduced and used during strategy meetings at the SFC and then later used via the web from the companies homebase.

With Dolphin as a communications channel, you have a basis for following up and planning the company's goals and business activities on all levels. All employees can participate in each other's contributions, which creates greater understanding of how they can influence and contribute to the company's future.

STRATEGIC VISIONING
Strategic visioning helps you to move from words to action. To capture thoughts and see the overall picture in discussions - everything you need to make visions and goals clearer.

Strategic visioning consists of graphic templates, which provide structure and make it simplier to document what is said during the meeting. In this way you make it easier for a group to steer a discussion towards a result.

In SFC we often used the Grove templates for this method.

Strategic visioning gives increased insight into the business for employees on all levels. The strategic processes are put into context, which means that understanding of changes increases, as everyone is onboard and participating.

Strategic visioning is normally run as a workshop. Step-by-step, we help you to find your organization's values and orientation, which means you can formulate realistic action plans. The idea is to convert knowledge into practice, which results in better understanding and alignment with the company's visions and goals.
