OUR OBJECTIVES

OVERALL OBJECTIVES
Our overall objective is to accelerate the innovation, dissemination and use of Future Centers as collaborative working environments. Further our aim is to create an easily accessible open source operating system describing how to set up, run and continuously improve Future Centers. We will pay special attention to how human factors and the organization of work processes enhance user-centricity and the ability of people to collaborate across distance, content areas and national cultures.

We also aim to work closely with the CWE research community to support the other projects accepted in the Call to enhance consistency of research agenda’s, good future orientation, identification of blind spots and missed opportunities and practical plans for systemic integration. It will integrate its socio-economic and behavioral science expertise with the technical focus of other projects to help the CWE community to create a strong and integrated policy portfolio. In this sense it will become a Future Center for the extended CWE community.

Another important aim of the Open Futures Project is to publicly disseminate the results of the project and for doing so this web site will be of great importance. We can therefore assure you that this site will be constantly renewed and developed as we go along in the project.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
In order to achieve maximum impact, OpenFutures has defined the following strategic objectives. Please note that Objective 1.a describes activities which will be carried out in parallel with activities related to Objectives 2 – 6.

Objective 1: Support and serve the wider CWE community and the NWE Unit

Objective 2: Describe Future Center best practice from around the world in terms of four perspectives: organisational, physical, technological and methodological.

Objective 3: Make results accessible, mainly by developing a "operating system".

Objective 4: OpenFutures will develop a vision on emerging areas for research, for collaboration in practice and for translating important social, economic and technological trends into practical opportunities for improving practice.

Objective 5: OpenFutures will create business models for wide acceptance of its results, and reference groups for business and public sector for advice on how its results can best be adapted for use.

Objective 6: Connect networks.
The project will define practical collaboration and enrich opportunities for Future Centers and CWE’s in terms of research, development, the integration of results and practical applications in business and society.
